The Tawakoni Sportsman Association is have their Sand Bass Tournament JUNE 11, 2011. This tournament is very important to all Hybrid Striper anglers. The money raised from this event is used to stock the lake with hybrids. Please come visit Tawakoni and enjoy this great lake. The Tournament is fun, you have a chance to win some money, and support Tawakoni Sportsman Association!

Better get to Twak SportsFans, the topwater bite is ON! Pick up a few NITRO POP Sr. and look for schooling fish & shad flying out of the water! Chunk the Nitro and HANG on!

These fish can also be taken on Moe's 5" Sassy Shad or 5" & 6" Shanghai Swim Baits

Remember to move your lure fast, the Hybrids and Striper want that bait moved QUICK!

OK SportsFans Twak in ON! Look for schooling fish warly in the AM. Throw the NITRO POP SR. till the fish go down, then chunk a 4.5" Smack Bait with a 1.0 oz Sassy Shad Jig Head.

You can find schooling fish at Sun Point, Tall Man, Wolf Creek, and Wolf Creek Humps.

As you can tell from my blog, Moe's TU luvs Lake Tawakoni! We got out of AR a day early ( for good reason ) and made a BEE-LINE to Matts Guide Service! Called Matt on the way home and booked a trip for 5-27! Game was on at day light! Found schooling sand bass and hybrids by the dam in 4-8 feet of water! That cooled down around 9 AM and the hunt was on! Matt has a very cool way to locate the hybrids and weed out sand bass. Book a trip with him and I bet he shares this seek and destroy method :)

Had a bite to eat for lunch and back at it around Noon! It was very hot with ZERO wind! Most SportsFans went to the ramp, but BIG COUNTRY said hang on another 30 mins! We did, and it paid off big time! Matt found the mother load of fish on some humps by Holiday Marina and we wore fish out on every cast til 4 PM! It was a great day and I look forward to my next trip to Twak!

Lake Tawakoni Sportsman Association Sand Bass Tournament is June 12, 2010. Ya'll get over to Twak and support these people. This group keeps Hybrids stocked in Twak so ya'll can have a good old big'un tug on your string! Might want to hire Big Country B4 the big event? Just Say'n??

Bull Shoals AR Trip 5-10

Well the much anticipated trip to Bull Shoals Lake has come and gone?? We had great expectations of Huge Stripers and came home a day early with a few pictures of Walleye and a few Bass????? I will just call this trip a learning curve at best. Had a great time in Bull Shoals AR! The cabins was very nice!! BULL MOUNTAIN RESORT made our stay very comfortable and Kathy & Mark are great people!

Here is the fishing report! Bull Shoals & Norfork are VERY VERY VERY CLEAR. Not a striper was had on BS, and only 1 on Norfork?? My best advise is get on google and hire a guide?? Our "guide" was a bit busy and could not find time to fish with our crew? If you want to catch Walleye, throw soft plastics on light jig heads in shallow brush and slow roll it back to the boat!

If you want to go trout fishing, the White river dumps out of Bull Shoals and is very good! JV, El, and Gene rented a boat and trout fished 1 day and caught some fish. Once again the river is clear, so light fluro is a must. A guide will help on the river too! I took the fly-rod and did manage a nice trout when the river was low. When they let water out of the spillway, watch out! The river gets very quick, high, and mean! The wet wade was a bit chilly even for an Oregon Dude?? Take some waders sportsfans!

We had a few trips to GASTONS RESORT, very nice SportsFans! I think the entire crew will give a thumbs up to Gastons! Yes Gene those dudes did know me at the Bar???

Well I guess that is all on the Bull Shoals Trip! My next trip to AR will be to Gastons for a few days of fly fishing for trout! Bull Shoals & Norfork 5 Moe's TU 0????? I would like to finish this Blog on a positive note! I made some very cool friends on BS, I think my lack of bathing attracted some butterflies??

Ray Hubbard SandBass Tournament May 15 Results

Well the 5th Annual TFF Ray Hubard Sand Bass Tournament was a huge success! JV and crew did a fine

job again! The food was great and always nice to see TFF people and share some stories! Team Moe's TU zigg'd when we should have zagg'd and did not finish very well, but had a great time!

FastGuy George caught a HUGE Largemouth, but we just could not find those SandBass??

Ruben caught this huge Grouper above on a Mitee Moe, but once again we could not cash IN on a SandBass??

Big Fish Cliff saved the day with some Diet Milk and as always cooked up some fresh sandbass!!! YUM YUM YUMMEEEE!

Can't remember who won the Tourney??? Think some dudes called Team EL Nitro ?? Here are the results:
